Okay, this is... kind of a dumb question, but—

[Hope leans back a little and sighs, adjusting the sling around his left arm with a slight wince. He's somewhat arched awkwardly over the journal's view, the book itself spread across his lap since he currently only has one hand to work the thing.]

I just moved into a new house, and I'm sick of this colour. [He shifts his upper body to the side, attempting to prop up the journal to show what he means. What the camera catches instead is a blurred view of the plain walls zipping past before it slips from his hand and falls to the floor with a thump.

Heaving an exasperated sigh, the boy stoops to pick the thing up, dropping it onto the bed next to him with a bit of a scowl.]

... forget it. But really, I'm going to paint the walls in my room this time, and I don't care if I get in trouble. So... does anyone know what would be a good colour, because... um... my favourite colours wouldn't look very good. [Day-Glo orange walls? No.]

[A pause.]

Can we... can we even get paint here?

[Very shortly thereafter, because he's stir-crazy after spending several days recovering from the battle, he'll be found either en route to or at the the plaza—which is essentially right next to his new home (House #41) anyway—journal tucked beneath his good arm.]

[ Lightning wasn't at home when Hope made his message, although it would seem that's where she was heading when she catches sight of him just entering the plaza. Immediately the odd sort of absent, faintly-irritated expression she had been wearing disappears, replaced as she approaches him with a faint smile instead. ]

[He'd been glancing about at the different shops surrounding him with a slightly-perplexed, slightly-glum look on his face; Lightning's question startles him a bit, and the journal slips out from underneath his arm. Thankfully, he manages to catch it in his fingers, heaving a sigh.]

I'm okay. I can't take any more sitting around, though. I hate not having an arm.

[ She just sighs quietly, reaches out to put her hand on his shoulder for a moment. They might not be out of the woods yet, but injury or no, he managed to make it back from the draft alive. The amount of relief in just that deceptively simple fact is almost enough to overwhelm entirely. ]

What's your favourite colour? You could always choose a paler variation! I'm pretty sure you can find paint in one of the stores. A friend of mine has a full set of paints, so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find them somewhere.

Orange... and green. Those are my favourites. I... I don't think they'd look very good on the walls, though. Even if it was a paler shade. [A slightly nervous chuckle.]

What do you mean... a full set of paints? Is it the kind to paint houses with, though? Or just for art?

Really? That happens to be my favourite colour too! I actually don't see the problem of a pale orange wallpaper, I've seen other people have it like that.

Well, they're the types of paint for art, but I don't see why they wouldn't have the ones for painting buildings! It's always worth it to try looking.

I don't think you would get in trouble. People make all kinds of changes to their houses here, don't they? Besides, I'm pretty sure they have paint at the item shop.

I'm not... very good at that. [A faint laugh.] Um... I've worn stuff that doesn't go together before, and didn't even realize it. I don't want to make the same mistake here...
