[A few weeks have passed since his arrival; Hope's grown more accustomed to the way things run around here, finally gotten some climate-decent clothing, and is now attempting to stick his neck out further—for better or worse. When the video comes on, he's wearing a dark green turtleneck sweater—since there's no errant silver feathers sticking out behind him, this suggests that he opted to cover his wings instead of letting them hang out to be vulnerable.

His head is sort of halfway tucked on his folded arms, which suggests he's lounging across something—probably his bed. Hope props his chin in hand, staring at the camera.]

So... ah... [Idly adjusting the cuff of his sleeve.] I guess... it's time for me to go back to school, huh. [He gives a faint, nervous sort of smile.] Who here's already going? Um... I guess... i-it'd be nice to know who I'm going to be in class with. Or do they separate it by years here... like they did back in my hometown?

[There's the sounds of shuffling, then, and he quickly turns his head to the side.] W-what...!? H-hey, stop! [A black nose appears in view, along with the heavy sounds of panting—before a thick pink tongue drags over his cheek.] Gross! Cut that out, Baldr! I'm trying to... stop it! [He's clearly trying not to laugh, though, as half a curly black puppy face appears in the view, an audible thumpthumpthumpthump as his wagging tail smacks against the bed each time.] HOPE PLAY! HOPE PLAY!

We'll play later! [Hope's brow furrows as he attempts to shove the young dog away, now occupying the furniture. He gives up then, with a heavy SIGH, pulling the journal back toward him.]

I... guess they don't allow pets there, right?

[Hope offers up a sheepish sort of smile in turn.]

That's great... um... what's your name? I'm Hope.

Nice to meet you too, Megumi...! So what's it like there? Is it like regular school, or...?

[ Lightning is in the same apartment, of course, but it's certainly not unusual for her to have her journal open! Right now she's... well, folding something, but she drags the book over when she hears Hope's voice, just in time to see his message. And she also sees... ]

... Is Baldr on your bed?

Yeah... [He turns his head to look at the dog, who is now (mostly) off-screen but there's a hint of something black and furry at the edge of the camera's view. And the panting and tail-thumping can be heard.] Maybe it's time for him to go outside again...

[ Well then. She would ~disapprove~, but it's not like she doesn't also let the puppy up, sometimes. There's a quiet but clear sigh as she looks off-- and a shuffle as she starts to get up. ]

Just make sure his feet aren't dirty... and that he actually gets down when you tell him to.

[Is Hope ready for a bizarre response? Because he's about to get a bizarre response. Mostly it sounds like a lot of thumping and snuffling, like... say... another dog got really excited about Baldr and grabbed its owner's journal and ran off with it. Which would be exactly what just happened.]

Dog. That is... Oh. [It's recorded that, hasn't it? How embarrassing. Ahem.] ... My apologies.

What— [Hope gapes at his journal for a moment.] Um... hello? What was that?

Dog ran away with the journal. [Said as though this sort of thing happens all the time. Well, it does to him, anyway.]

You know, I've been here for a few months, and I haven't gone to school.

[It's strange because it does sound nice, but... he's just not used to that kind of education, and everything keeps piling up for him and his friends.]

Maybe it'd be fun, though. You'd probably be able to make some new friends.

I'm afraid pets will have to stay home during classes, yes. As for the classes, they're mostly divided by skill, rather than age. There were only two teachers when this system was established, so it was easiest that way.

Aside from myself and Professor Sage, we have a few substitute teachers as well. Aside from that, Sir Chopin teaches music classes and we're hoping to find a way to fit some extra physics classes into the schedule, taught by sir Scott. [She means Scotty, but he introduced himself as Montgomery Scott, so...]

We teach all sorts of basic classes, ranging from math to reading and writing. There's a class focused on Luceti's history, while another class allows students to talk about their own worlds.
